Been using a FIIO dac for a few mo, no issues with PCM or DSD. So āupgradedā to the Gungnir, sigma delta version but with Unison USB upgrade. Basically, PCM upsampling works great, but canāt get it for DSD in any way via usb- silent no sound. Have tried every setting combo I can conceive of, no dice. Strangely, on an OLD imac I can get the DSD to show up but the DAC clicks out soon as the track tries to start. With newer MBP, DSD does not even show up. āDSD over PCMā yes, but not in the actual upsampling settings. Have tried 3 usb cables. Thanks for any help here.

The Schiit Audio DACs do not handle 1-bit PDM (DSD) they only handle multi-bit PCMā¦ In your case:

Input Capability
- Up to 32/384 for Unison 384
- Up to 32/192 for other inputs
You will need to set the āNative DSD streaming methodā to: āNone, convert to PCMā
