Seamless playback

Hi again

Sorry, but this is a deal breaker for me…
As I play lots of DJ Mixes - the tracks need to be seamless and not stop between each track - Is there a way of having continuos/seamless playback ?

Even a little stop between the tracks spoiler the whole flow of the mix

I have already rejected 2 music play systems due to them not having this feature

Any Ideas would be much appreciated

Thanks

Ray

If you are talking about gapless playback, it’s by default activated in Audirvāna.

Are you playing on a network output or locally on a USB device when you get the behavior?

Hi

Its local from my DAS - I have not ed however , if I let the whole track play the next one is buffered - but it won’t work if it’s started half way

Sorry to keep asking the questions - But I do like what I see, will probably subscribe , but I can’t do Roon too , and that won’t renew until January…so I will make a note in my Diary

Thanks again

Ray

What do you mena by that? I would really like to understand what you are trying to do. You can send some screenshot for better understanding

so now, letting AV run has called this issue !!!

My system should be about to cope,

As a DJ, you should know that you need a multitrack DAW to mix and fade tracks in real-time… Maybe Audirvana is not for you…

and it just crashed !

is it worth sending the report to apple ?

or shall I give up and stick to Roon ?

Paste your debug information here… it is found here: Settings–> My Account–> Help–> Debug info

Hi

Say debug has too many characters - what part do you need and I will truncate

All the tracks are already " mixed " and just need to be played …The tracks seems to stutter bit when going onto the next track

VLC is ok , as is Roon and I tunes. I have a few other Aps that stop ( not even for a second - but it does stop

You pasted a debug report in your other post… We need to see what your configuration is at this point… Also take @ChiliHot 's advice and reduce the playback pre-load memory allocation… In your previous debug info, you were allocating 62GB of you available 64GB System RAM for pre-load memory… macOS Sonoma is a memory hog… the more System RAM available for system operations the better…

If the tracks are contiguous files of ‘X’ length they should play as any other song file… Apparently there are transitional zero-crossing gaps that were mixed into these files…

Would screen shots be helpful as the issue is a audible one…

for example

Track 1 Nut rocker is 57 seconds long which should play into track 2 ( don’t know how the tech works but the CDs play ok as so do other apps I have )

It does not always happen , which its why I assume its to do with buffering - and having to load in the next track , ready to play…

I think that I’m already starting to spend too much time on this

I will monitor during ny trail period and see if I can pin point an exact case and maybe send a audio clip of it happening

Thanks

Please send me the whole crash at [email protected] so I can review it. You can find the file in the Console app of macOS.

We need to see the state of your system configuration… Debug provides that snap-shot…

I received the file; I will review it as soon as possible.

SPDIF is connected directly to the Mac Studio via USB C - NOT via a hub

( I have to say it does sound really good )

I do have large collection of music , and AV is still " Syncing " so assuming this is a one off process ( which then drops to monitoring ) it may speed things up as the HD is going mad at the moment !

Thanks for all your help , really appreciated
