Hi, first time trying Audirvana and I’m coming across several UI bugs:

  • Volume down button doesn’t work. As in the little “-” next to the volume level. Nor does the short cut for volume down, or the volume down media key on the keyboard. In fact, the only keys that do work are Pause/Play, Volume up and Mute. Volume Down, Previous Track and Next Track do not working. Anyone know why only some keys work?
  • Cannot adjust any settings when a track is playing or paused. Which means I can’t tweak an equaliser whilst the music is playing and heard the results live. Essentially it’s a really bad user experience trying to adjust things. I have to fully stop (not pause) playing via the menu just to enable access to settings, open the equaliser settings, make an adjustment, close them, then start playing again (which of course resets back to the start of the first track because I had to stop). Loop and repeat slowly and clunkily. Not a good experience at all. Anyway I can tweak things without having to bring my playback to a grinding halt.

This also depends on the output you are using, we will see it in your debug info.

Can you go in your Appearance setting of Studio and check if you have Keyboard control settings enabled?

If you enable the Realtime mode and play some tracks, you will be able to change the settings of your plugin in live.

Thanks. Real time mode solved the EQ problem.

In appearance, Use keyboard media keys is On, and Use Keyboard volume control keys is also On. Volume down still refuses to work. Tried turning them off and back on, together and individually. No difference.

Hmmm. Found some interesting things.

By default the volume step is set to 0.5db. Vol+ works and Vol- doesn’t. Both will clicking the “-” and “+” icons and using the keyboard hot keys.

However if I change the volume adjustment to 0.6db or greater, the “-” icon/keyboard Vol- key start working.

Are you using a MacBook without Touch bar?

No. I have a Touch Bar. I just forget to look at it because the MacBook is usually off to the side of my main monitor.
