Streaming music to Cabasse Pearl does not work properly

Hello, I am enjoying audirvana for more than a year and I am quite happy. But when I stream music to my Cabasse pearl speakers via wifi the music always stops abruptly after a few songs; typically at the end of a song/start of a new song.

(Streaming Spotify music from the same computer to the Cabasse pearl speakers works without any problems.)

I tried several settings (e.g. I switched off upsampling) without any success.

As I like the audirvana sound I would really be very happy if there is a solution to this problem.

Any ideas? Help appreciated.

Can you send me a copy of the “Debug Info” while you have the issue? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>General>Debug Info

I think you might contact Cabasse about this issue as your Pearl do not declare it’s audio capability as it should.

If you try to use it with itunes, do you have the same issue?

Damian3, thanks again for your quick answer.

I cannot stream from iTunes directly to the Cabasse pearl speakers, as the pearls do not support apple airplay. When using iTunes as a music source for the pearls I stream to an Apple TV which is connected with one of the Pearls via optical input. Basically this workaround works without any problems, but it is not my favorite way as I think the sound of audirvana is better and I always have to switch manually to optical input first.

Frankly speaking, I suspect that Cabasse - with reference to the problem-free Spotify streaming - will tell me it is a problem of the Audirvana-Software.

Damien 3, can you do me a favor and describe the root cause of the problem in a way that Cabasse understands that really something with the Pearls is not correct and helps them to find the problem, respectively, the solution.

Actually they can’t say such thing because Spotify use their own network protocol, Spotify Connect to be able to communicate with a device. This time we are talking about UPnP which is different, especially in therms of audio quality. What you can suggest to them is to download Audirvana and try for themselves, if they have the same issue as yours this means it’s a UPnP implementation issue.
