Support for the old licence system

Good morning,

since the introduction of the new subscription model seems inevitable I would like to know If my licence key looses validity If Support of 3.35 stops. In other words: Will I still be able to install 3.35 or older versions after Support hast stopped and will it be possible to validate the licence key for which I had to pay nearly 100 Euros?

Yes, you will continue to be able to activate the 3.5 version license for the years to come.

You can still activate the version 3.2 and support for that stopped few years ago.

I do not agree. Currently there are long term bugs in 3.5 that have not been fixed. What incentive is there to fix them now? Absolutely none.

If you were Audirvana, or any other company, and you want to drive users to your newest program, you have to stop supporting your current one. That’s just the way this business works.

You are quite right. Audirvana will have no qualm getting rid of the cost of sustaining 3.5 if their move for a subscription system is a success.
It may not happen this year, but it will happen as soon as they can afford it.
Call me cynical if you will…

They should NEVER have used the term “Lifetime” when I purchased my license three months ago. Most tech companies continue supporting legacy products after they have chosen to retire them.
I’m trying to get over the bait-and-switch effect. They should at least offer a better pricing structure for someone like me who purchased 3.5 (“lifetime”) less than three months ago.

I totally feel you on this, I spent a hundred euros last february and here I am with a product that I already know is being discontinued. What’s crossing me right now is that this is not something you plan and do overnight, so they sold me something well knowing that was ahead - and still are, if you look at their site.

There is a general trend of squeezing money out of audiophiles’ pockets and this seems to be exactly the case.

My exact feelings too: “Currently there are long term bugs in 3.5 that have not been fixed. What incentive is there to fix them now? Absolutely none.”
