Synology won't sync with Library

I’ve read through the threads. It seems insane to me that it is necessary to delete certain characters in the folder names to make the sync work. My wife likes Chinese Opera! If this is so, perhaps the developer could publish a list of unacceptable characters. A solution like that should be addressed in the software.

I updated the SMB settings on my Synology DS281+. When I did this it looked like it was going to sync and in fact did sync a very small portion of my library. I can’t get it to sync the rest.

I have used Audirvana for many years. I am running DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 3, the latest.

What’s the fix?

Before you try to sync your tracks with Audirvana, can you open the console app of MacOS, search for Audirvana and try to sync your tracks again? Do you see some errors in in Console?

@Antoine can you tell me what those error codes mean?

Also check the minimum SMB level setting in DSM. It needs to be min. SMB level 2 starting with Catalina.

Yes, thank you. I saw you post this in a previous thread and made the adjustment prior to my last attempt.

I have a similar issue but not sure if the same reasons. When I add new albums to my music folder on my Synology NAS they will only appear in my library if I restart the app on my Mac. I can’t find a way to start a manual rescan. Sync seems to happen for a short while after an app relaunch - there was an app update the other day and I added an album after the update and it did appear in my library but I added another album tonight about 2 hours ago and it is still not showing up. When I check settings and the path to my music, at the end of the row the word auto is there but the word ‘off’ next to it instead of ‘sync’ and I can’t change it.
