TC Electronic Clarity M Stereo as AU in Audirvana Problem

Hey All,

I’m running Audirvana 3.5.50 (non studio) on a Big Sur Mac Mini with a Lynx Hilo USB interface. Generally playback is good when routed out to the Hilo via USB or to Dirac Live processor in the audio output section… Problem is when I load the TC Electronic AU plugin it shows up in 5.1 mode on the plugin itself. It only meters stereo so that’s not right. Next when I hit play the relays in my Hilo click on and off like during a sample rate change… and nothings plays. Playback just stops.
I tried switching “Use as stereo only” off and on. Didn’t make a difference. Nothing within the Audirvana settings seems to makes a difference. BTW, other plugins like pretty much any stereo EQ, compressors, iZotope Insight, etc work just fine. Just wont work with the Clarity M plugin or the Dirac Live Plugin (same 5.1 mode loads).
I’m pretty sure I know why this is happening, but can’t figure out a fix… The Lynx Hilo is a 8X8 USB interface. 4 stereo usb play channels and 4 stereo usb record channels. So I think the Clarity and Dirac AU plugins think they should load as multichannel. Anyway to force an AU plugin to load as stereo perhaps?
Wondering if anyone else has encountered the same or a similar problem?
Thanks in advance!

Hello @nowakmastering,

Can you send us a copy of the “Debug Info” when you have this issue? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>General>Debug Info

Please remove the line corresponding to your logged-in account to avoid displaying your email address and first name/last name publicly.

Note: By clicking on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content, all you have to do is paste it in response to this message.

i also try to find the Clarity M plugin on their website and the link I found doesn’t work, do you still have the apk of the plugin? If so, please send it at support@audirvana.com.

Thank you Antoine,

Please see debug report below. Oddly since I’ve posted my question/issue about the Clarity M plugin, I encountered a new issue which I’ve never seen since I got Audirvana about a year or two ago. Recently I was listening to Tidal via Audirvana as I always have. I looked up an artist, selected a track and it failed to load. After a minute or so, Audirvana started playing the track below my selection in the playlist. I reinstalled a slightly older 3.5.43 and the problem went away for a little bit, but still occurs time to time. Very odd, this has never happened before. The Clarity plugin not loading is somewhat of an issue. I can still meter via optical, but the recent issue with loading tracks is more concerning. Maybe the debug report can shed some insight on both matters?
I will send the clarity installer via email to support@audirvana.com
