Tidal in Audirvana and bursting

Oops, sorry.

The only other idea I have is to try to find the same track in pure PCM (not MQA) through HDTracks or even Qobuz. Maybe it’s an MQA artifact.

For information only, the album AYAKO ISHIKAWA is not in MQA. And it doesn’t just happen in one song but in the whole album!
I also tried the second xmos driver and it still crashes. The album is 44.1khz so it’s not hi-res.

There is an Ayako Ishikawa album in Qobuz, but I can’t log in in Slovakia!

do you have an other device output to try to reproduce the issue? Do you have speakers in your computer?

Yes, I can listen to led tv via HDMI that I don’t use. I tried listening to it over TV and the popping is there too!

That’s a good news. Can you try to retrieve the same song from another source? Do you have a CD with this track? If yes, rip the CD and import it in Audirvana. Otherwise try to find it online from some retailer.

I only have it on Tidal.

So I found other albums that burst. Another example is Celine Dion, power of love. I’m already unhappy about that. Please help!
I turned off the audio system and tried playing on the TV again via HDMI and it does it there too! So the mistake must be in Audirvana

You’ll find Celine Dion for sure. Try with that to see if the origin is the source file or the player (Audirvana).

I have that song in FLAC 16/44.1 ripped from a CD. Just tried with 2 different DACs. Absolutely no issues, and I listened through the whole song twice. You owe me, I’m not a Celine Dion fan. :wink:

Did you listen to this album from Tidal?

My wife noticed today when I wasn’t home that she would burst in SSD albums while listening through Audirvana!

I didn’t try the second DAC because it does it even if I turn off the DAC and play the sound from the NUC via HDMI to the TV!

I was able to solve my crack problem. In signal processing and signal polarity I had both Invert globally and Invert for track whit INVERTPOLARITY comment.
I don’t know why I had it turned on before.
Can anyone explain to me why it is used in Audirvan?

The invert polarity setting is here to prevent having issue with track that have been reversed recorded. In this case the track have the comment INVERTPOLARITY in the track. Have you tried to just disable one of the two setting available?

I forbade both cracking stopped.
I haven’t tried it on my own.

I have the same problem, however in my case it happens on all non-mqa Tidal tracks, and the invert polarity disabling does not help. Same situation otherwise, as it only happens in Audirvana, whereas doesn’t happen in native Tidal App. MQA tracks are played with no problems…
