Tidal playlists loading issue

Hi all,

I have found another weird situation with AS and Tidal.

When using the AS app on my Mac, I can see al my Tidal playlists but when I try to open one it won’t load the songs within that playlist.

Strangely, I can use the remote app on my iPhone to open and play the playlist and can select any song from the playlist without a problem.

Is this a known bug? If so, any fixes?

Hi @JB92,

Can you send us a copy of the "Debug Info“ when you have this issue? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>My account.

Note: By clicking on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content. All you have to do is paste it in response to this message

Sure thing @Antoine, here you go.

I will add that

  1. I haven’t been able to open one of my personal playlists for a few weeks now, other than from the remote app. It worked perfectly for a while.
  2. Opening a Tidal curated playlist works fine.

what happens when you try to open it, do you see the content in the playlist?

No @Antoine, nothing at all.

Here is the desktop app:

…and here is the mobile app:

Also worth pointing out is that the desktop app takes ages to load the playlists (at least 5 seconds per playlist). When opening the playlist I get the rainbow wheel on my Mac for a good few seconds before it opens the playlist, only to not load any tracks.

Can you share the playlist so I can try to reproduce your issue on my side?

https://www.hardreset.info/devices/apps/apps-tidal/share-playlist/

@Antoine, it happens on literally every playlist that I have…

Hi @JB92,

Have you tried to disconnect and reconnect your Tidal account from Audirvāna Studio?

Hi @Antoine,

Yes, that was the first thing that I tried to do and repeated when I installed the new version.

Another interesting quirk to this bug:

  1. Open AS on MacBook
  2. Attempt to open playlist - doesn’t work
  3. Open playlist on phone - works
  4. Choose first track on playlist from phone and play
  5. Open queue on MBP - all songs in playlist are visible

When I go to Tidal → My Music → My Playlists, I see all the Playlists that I created in the Tidal Application on my MAC.

However, all the playlists show their titles and Album Collage but NO tracks are listed in ANY of the playlists.

I have shutdown Audirvana, logged/logged back out. It shows the Playlists BUT no tracks in any of them :frowning:

What am I missing? Please see attached screenshot.

Hi @Spiritual-Abies-2600,

Does it work if you try to access this playlist using the remote?

I have never used the remote functionality, so not sure. I shall download the remote app and report back.

Okay, here is an update… After using the Remote Application, I saw the following behaviour.

  • The Playlists that are coming up 1st are simply put as “Music” title header. In the Remote App, these same playlists are put under the “Apple” tab. I no longer have Apple Subscription, so not sure how or why these lists are showing up?

  • Then there is ANOTHER playlist tab, called Tidal, in the remote App. If I play those, they all work. Going back to the Desktop version, if I scroll past the non-working “Music” titled playlists I can get to the Tidal playlists and they work.

So questions, how do I remove the “Apple” Music playlists since they don’t work. Also I cancelled my Qobuz account, but now every startup it is saying it has issues logging into Qobuz, but when I go to settings > streaming, it shows “disconnected” under Qobuz

Hi @Spiritual-Abies-2600,

You must go to Audirvāna settings under the LOCAL section and remove the iTunes/Musci sync.

About Qobuz, can you disconnect and then reconnect your account? To do this, you must go to Audirvāna settings, My Account section.

@Antoine just an update here.

  1. I am still experiencing the same problem here.
  2. Remote app still solves the problem
  3. I accidentally opened the old Audirvana app (Classic?) and it loaded my playlists without a problem.

Is there any news that could be shared re this bug? Possibly the team is working on resolving this?

Which Mac are you using? Is it an Apple Silicon?

Yes, M1
