UI Crash Using Previous Navigation Arrow with Qobuz in Studio 3.3.1

A rather annoying and 100% repeatable (for me) crash of the UI when browsing Qobuz.

Studio 3.3.1, macOS 26.5.1, MacBook Pro M5 Max

Steps to reproduce.

  1. Click on Qobuz icon in sidebar.

  2. Select Qobuz Grand Selection (all good)

  3. Select an album (all good, example below)

  4. Click the back navigation arrow (top left of AS window) and lose the window functions at the top and all sidebar icons go missing see screenshot below

  5. Attempt to recover by clicking the only available button in the sidebar which is the settings button and get black screen (see below). Only way to recover is close Studio and re-open.

This issue only occurs when browsing Qobuz, works fine in local library etc.

Hi @Djm1960 ,

Can you send us a copy of the "Debug Info“ when you have this issue? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>My account.

Will do when I get back home later.

Hi @ antoine. Debug Info as requested below.

Can you try this version of Audirvāna Studio?

https://audirvana-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/p/antoine/IgAS8DhtpZG-TLRvi2_aDrQNAT3Wzyjh0sMldqoML5iHVlY

Hi @antoine

This version is much better but still has the issue. it occurs infrequently, maybe one in 5 times I use the “back” navigation button rather than 100% of the time and once again only in Qobuz browsing. Also although I can use the back button OK there are some glitches with the previous window displaying incorrectly (see screenshot 2).

Note that your earlier suggestion of re-sizing the window slightly or going into full screen mode then back into window mode forcing a screen re-draw sometimes corrects the issue but not always. The issue of the Audirvana screen re-drawing but extending off the bottom of the screen as shown in screenshot 2 occurs,

Screenshots of issue with your newer build shared today.

After using the back button or rezing the window, the issue of the prior screen displaying incorrectly is shown in the following screenshot. i.e not all information is displayed and the Audirvana window extends off the bottom of the screen.

I also reported screen issues, namely the top-to-bottom lock which hides the playing tracks’ controls. I suspect it has to do with window resizing. Antoine clearly is working on it and that is great!

Maybe not working on it for his next 3 weeks vacation?!?

As long as they are aware of it it’s OK. Everyone deserves a break… They have had a very hectic year with the major updates across the board so far….. patience required,

Hi guys, it seems the issue has been corrected by Damien on my side, but I need to do more tests on my end with this version, as it introduces a new feature that I need to test on my end first.

Hi @antoine It’s better for me, but not solved. Occurs less frequently and with different behaviour which is easier to recover from. First screenshot is after using the back arrow when browsing Qobuz. Again the window has expanded upwards past the menu bar…..

After using the full screen menubar button and going back into window mode it corrects the upper position but the playbar actions dissapear off the bottom of the screen as shown in screenshot 2. I can then correct by resizing the window slightly from this position and it “pops” back into the correct position. 16” MBP, AS 3.3.2.

Hi @Djm1960 , with Audirvāna Studio 3.3.3, are you able to reproduce the issue?

Hi @antoine

Yes, no change, still occurs on 3.3.3. As stated easier now to recover but still occurs on MBP M5 max set at 2056 x 1329 resolution on macOS 26.6. Exactly the same as my previous post, recovery possible going full screen then selecting my local library then reverting to windowed mode. It does not occur everytime using the back arrow when browsing Qobuz but maybe 1 in 4 times.

Does it occur more when you are in the Grand selection of Qobuz?

I meant by that you open it, then scroll a lot in it, open albums, then use the back arrow.

Hi @Antoine

This occurs when I go through the following process;

  1. Click on Qobuz icon in sidebar which opens in “Discover”
  2. Then go to any of the following; “Qobuz Grand Selection” or “Qobuzissimes” or “Ideal Discography”, “Press Awards” or “Top Albums on Qobuz”
  3. I am then confronted with the list of albums.
  4. I select one album to view the tracks or description.
  5. I then select the back arrow to go back to the album list - it does not go back to the album list but jumps back to the first screen with the Qobuz “Discover” options and size has jumped past the menu bar as shown in the following screenshot. I should add the window is frozen in this position and scrolling up or down is not possible.

To recover I go to the green “full screen button” in AS (top left). Once in that I can see the sidebar icons, I click on my local library or playlists, then click the green button again to get back to window mode and the display returns to normal. As stated this does not occur every time but typically occurs after 4 or 5 uses of the back button in Qobuz, once it starts then it tends to occur every time thereafter. Hope this explains it??

I probably did not answer your question. No it does not occur after lots of scrolling. Today for instance,

  1. Powered on computer

  2. Opened Audirvana

  3. Clicked on Qobuz icon in sidebar

  4. Clicked on “Qobuzissimes”

  5. Clicked on album to view tracks.

  6. Clicked on back arrow.

  7. Screen corruption occurs and upper section of window appears to go above screen with top of window and sidebar icons now above the screen.

  8. Click on green button to go full screen and the window shows the top lines and sidebar icons are again visible but I lose the playbar at the bottom of the screen (screenshot below).

  9. Then click on local library in the sidebar and click on the full screen button to return to window mode and everything returns to normal (screenshot below)

As stated this occurs straight after a starting the computer so caches are not loaded and no significant scrolling has taken place.

Note that as an additional datapoint, when at my desk and connected to an Apple Pro XDR display, if I place the Audirvana window in the screen centre (see screenshot 1) then go to Qobuz, select a grouping to view albums, then select an album and use the back arrow the whole Audirvana window jumps in size vertically to try and accomodate a view of the whole Qobuz Discover landing page, see screenshot 2. This seems to confirm when using the back arrow from viewing an album in Qobuz the window jumps in size vertically explaining why it disappears offscreen on the Macbook Pro’s 16" screen due to its lower vertical resolution.

And just to confirm this following on from my previous post, if I set the Pro XDR resolution to its native 6K resolution (screenshot 1), when using the back arrow the Audirvana window still jumps vertically in size but due to the enhanced resolution (4k - 6K) there is enough vertical resolution to see all elements of the Audirvana window UI and Qobuz Discover landing page (screenshot 2) and navigating around in AS is still possible and the app functions normally (although I would need an increase in the magnification afforded by my reading glasses to be able to hit tiny buttons with my mouse and be able to read the text).

Update for reminder of system specifications

Macbook Pro M5 Max, high spec 18 core CPU, 40 core GPU, 48 GB RAM, macOS 26.6, Audirvana Studio 3.3.3.

Hi guys,

We have been able to identify the root cause of the issue. A test version of Audirvāna Studio will be released soon with a fix for it in it.

Many thanks for the update. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!!

This issue is fixed for me in version 3.3.99 beta. Many thanks!
