Unable to open new files

I seem to be unable to open/download albums from my Google Drive, where my files reside. I have been able to do this in the past by going to the Local prompt and clicking on the G:\ to show the Google Drive, but now that line just highlights and does not go to the G Drive. Thank you for the help.

Hello @philbondi,

Are you able to access to those files using File explorer if you are on Windows or Finder if you are on MacOS?

Hello Antoine. Thanks for the reply. I can certainly see the files from File Explorer, but I would like Audirvana to open them like it use to. Perhaps I am doing something wrong? Show Settings - Local - and G:\ is the first prompt under Add Music To My Audirvana Library, but am unable to do so. There is a dozen albums under that heading, so I have done this in the past. Hopeful for a solution. Thank you.

Can you send us a copy of the “Debug Info” ? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>My account

Note: By clicking on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content, all you have to do is paste it in response to this message.

Have you tried to sync a specific folder like you done before instead of syncing the whole G: ?

What has happened in the past was to highlight the G:\ and then the folder would appear. From there I could open/download any file in that folder. I am unable to do that at this time.

If you try to drag and drop one of the file you have in your G: to the play queue of Audirvāna, does it work?

No I’m afraid not.

That’s really strange. Do you have other player on your computer to try to play your tracks?

I do, but I have not tried to open DSD files on the other player.

It appears the other player does not like DSD files.

Appart from DSD files, are you able to access to the other tracks you have in you G drive with it?

Yes sir I am.

Hi Antoine. I want to clarify: I can access the G drive just fine from File Explorer, and can play files that are not DSD in another player. However, Audirvana, for whatever reason, has lost the ability to download any new music from the G drive. I subscribe to Audirvana specifically for its ability to play DSD files. I can play anything that was previously downloaded to Audirvana, but can not add any new files. I appreciate your replies and willingness to help. I would love to get this software back to being able to download any files to it. Thank you.

VLC and Foobar are free and good players that can play dsd as I know. Try with VLC first, I don’t know if Foobar does not require a plugin for this. Download only from official sites to be completely safe. If will not work I suspect a problem with your Internet / connection with Google Drive. VLC is also good because can open almost everything multimedia without extra settings in most cases. Do you have DoP enabled in AS? For me is essential to enable it.

Hi Daniel. Thanks for the reply. VLC does not support DSD. I don’t know about Foobar…yet. Can you explain what DoP is? Feeling pretty newbee-ish at this point…thanks for the help.

Make sure that the files are downloaded. Audirvana on itself won’t trigger the download of the files. It will just scan for locally available files and add those files to the library.

DoP is DSD over PCM, a playback option available in the Audirvana settings. I use 1.0. Without this option selected I can’t play dsd using my usb dac capabilites. Also the sound is clearly better. Without this option selected the sq is much comparable with other players. I’m not so techical, you can find more about this even on this forum. It seems Damien also is a supporter, I read this here. Anyway does not hurt to try. Try for example DoP and ASIO. For me with ASIO the instruments are more clear, really a studio sound.

Hello bitracer. There has been a resolution: Restart the computer - restart AS - Go to the Local setting - G:\ - all folders are now downloaded into AS. In the past I was able to select folders for AS to download, but now I don’t have to worry about that. All my folders and files reside in AS.
