Okay thanks for sorting this out for me I think I will keep using Audirvana with the dac via usb for now, and playing my dsf files via the external hdd, I also have a Denon DVD 3910 SACD Player, but it would have been nice if there would have been an all in one solution without having to swap cables over. Maybe there comes a solution in the future. I just got into the dsd format since a couple of weeks and it sounds very good on my system.
Because of the nature of the K11 R2R DAC architecture, you are not losing anything by converting DSD to PCM in Audirvāna… You may gain some improvement in sound-quality by offloading the DSP decimation of the DSD signal to PCM in the DAC platform… The K11 R2R does not provide a pure unfettered 1-bit PDM (DSD) output signal… it is converting to multi-bit…
Are there other versions of Audirvana for mac that support this?
It really doesn’t matter in the context of the K11 R2R DAC, unless you can show that the DAC does not decimate the DSD file and supports an unfettered 1-bit DSD signal-path to output.
I don’t use a networked connection… best to pose that question to the Audirvāna support team:

This is from the K11 R2R DAC overview and confirms that DSD files are converted to PCM… ![]()
Also confirmed in the debug report of the ‘15 virtual formats’

I think still there is something wrong I haven’t heard back from nirvana , but I installed Windows 10 on my laptop with foobar2000 and I have everything running although not completely in dsd but I still have to figure somethings out but I can listen to al my music from my laptop for when I am lazy.
Cheers Rob
On macOS, convert all DSD to PCM in Audirvāna… the K11 R2R converts all DSD files to PCM by nature of the DAC architecture.. The same for DSD transmitted via Windows… All DSD signals are converted to PCM for output in the K11 R2R DAC.
If you are connecting the Mac via USB to the DAC, to transmit DSD signals via DoP, the maximum DSD file sample-rate you can play is DSD128, because the DAC supports PCM 24/352.8kHz which is the DoP (DSD over PCM) PCM carrier file sample-rate for 1-bit 5.6MHz PDM (DSD128)… macOS transmits DSD via DoP on the USB bus interface.
