Upsample to high bit rates or DSD on N150 mini PC - done before playing?

I’m running Audirvana on an N150-based mini PC, so it doesn’t have a lot of power. (But sounds great - I find that lower power, lower noise CPUs sound better.)

If I ask Audirvana to perform upsampling, does that take place entirely before playing the track, and in memory? That might make it realistic to use upsampling on a low power computer. (Although it might take a while, especially to DSD.)

Yes processing is done and the file loaded into RAM prior to playback. Only exception would be real time adjustments of plugins etc

Thanks. By the way I’m interested in using the parametric EQ, but can it be adjusted while I’m listening? I couldn’t find a way to do that. The idea is that I would be able to find the right settings for my headphones by ear while listening to relevant music.

Sorry, don’t use DSP but someone who does will no doubt answer your query. I believe not available over UPnP but is when using USB to the DAC. Someone will chime in and correct me if I am wrong

You should be able to adjust the EQ during playing when you activate the realtime option. There’s a toggle in the EQ.

Happy tweaking!

You cannot apply DSP to 1-bit PDM (DSD) signals.
