Just ran into a little bug…
When selecting ‘Mute during sample-rate change’ in the ‘Device Input’ settings of my Mac Studio DAC/Headphone output, the Volume output is muted when stopping and unlocking the audio-engine…
In this scenario I am using the Mac platform DAC with ‘Up-sampling’ enabled and … The high-volume alert is active, so to remind me to check my powered speakers that are attached to the headphone output of the Mac… When I stop playback and unlock the audio-engine as if to make a ‘Settings’ change the output Volume is muted and subsequent of starting playback again, I must disable the ‘mute’ function to hear the playback of the file.
This is in the context of the Mac platform DAC/Headphone output with ‘Mute during sample-rate change’ enabled, because, this behavior is not exhibited when playing to my reference system DAC where the sequence described above operates as expected, and the output volume is not affected by unlocking the audio-engine.
To reproduce on Mac platform/macOS 26.4.1 Headphone output DAC
Audrivāna Studio 3.0.2
- Stop any previously playing file and unlock the audio-engine
- In the ‘Device Input’ settings, enable ‘Mute during sample-rate change’
- Select an album/file
- Start playback… The output is muted.
When ‘Mute during sample-rate change’ is disabled, file playback resumes as expected with the output volume un-muted.
