I am still using Maverics. I saw the recommendation to use Sierra or Yosemite from damien. Does it really make a difference ? Are these new OS’s really better for sound reproduction than the old Maverics ?
I can’t answer as to whether there’s any SQ difference as I haven’t compared across different OS, however, Sierra prevents direct mode unless you apply a work-around (discussed on these pages), which could be significant as direct mode is generally considerered to sound better.
