Which version of Studio

If it’s of any help, mine was through Paddle.com.

Good luck :+1:

You sure that wasn’t your dues from the S/M club? :joy::wink::rofl:

Maybe it will help.…….

At the beginning of 2017 for the Audirvana 3 and beyond, the email came from

support@avangate.com

If you still have the contact details you used to purchase the license, @Antoine can also look it up for you.

Hi @Dniss,

It seems you bought the version 2 of Audirvāna back in 2016. At this time it was a license file.

The easiest way would be to find the email from Avangate (“Audirvana Plus”) that contains your license file.
Otherwise, you can redownload it directly from https://secure.2co.com/myaccount/

Let me know if you really want to get this version, it may not be fully compatible with the OS of your MacMini.

Salut Antoine, I have the license file, its the Audirvana V2 installer that I can’t locate.
Honnestly, I’d rather be able to run Studio, but I having trouble.

I don’t seems to be able to play files (Tidal) @ 192khz. I’m always getting a white noise. Now, there are so many setting that honestly, after trying any combination of settings, the best I was about to get is 24b/88khz by disabling upsampling.
I’m using the M2Tech HiFace, and my DAC is rather old, but supports 24b/192. I use to be OK with the older Audirvana version so I know it works.

After trying all sort of things for 3 hrs, I’d take any suggestions at this point.
Here’s the log file, can you help me?

I can’t say if it helps, but you could try setting ‘not MQA’ here.

Do you have the white noise when upsampling or when playing 192kHz files/ streams? MQA?

Edit:

When I read it again, I assume it must be MQA what you play from Tidal. FLAC is not yet available through Audirvana. Then Audirvana will perform the Core Decoder step. And you want to upsample this to 192khz? And the DAC setting is that it is a Renderer. Is the DAC an MQA renderer?

Hi Jacob, thanks for your reply.
I’m not too familiar with the lingo. My DAC is an old lamp model, so I doubt it supports MQA as this must be a recent feature.
One of my issue is that I do not know in what format the Tidal file actually is and if I’m somehow trying to force upsampling into a format my dac doesnt’ support. And if there are any benefits of doing so in the first place, even if my DAC did support it.

But local FLAC files 192khz on my disk will play only white noise too. But everything use to play very well with my older Audirvana version, with all the same equipment. This is what’s bothering me.
Perhaps the new Studio was intended for people with only recent technology and stopped supporting something that made it work for me before?
I have problem narrowing down the issue to something specific.

Den

try to turn the 2 of them OFF ?

Are your cable HDMI ?
Could it be HDMI don’t do 192 ?

Hi @Dniss

have you tried toggling the RAW switch to on (if it isn’t already)?

Did the old Audirvana work on the same Mac or was that an older one? Were you also using the M2Tech at the time?

Audirvana only ‘sees’ the M2Tech, what the DAC does behind it is unknown to Audirvana. The M2Tech hiFace Two is a Digital-Digital converter. Do you happen to have another DAC with an SPDIF input to connect to the M2Tech?

Or another Mac/PC to test the M2Tech? Which DAC do you use?

Have you tried to disable integer mode?
Enable Max I/O buffer Size?
Disable any volume controle?

Test them 1 by 1.
