I would like to know what you think about the network connection for a Mac mini running Audirvana: Better use WiFi for having one electrical cable less which could lead to transient current or LAN for the more stable connectivity?
I have tried both and have not heard any sound difference โฆ
I ended up with a RJ45 cable to the router.
I have replaced the external switched PS of the router with a linear PS, but Iโm not sure it makes a difference either .
The major benefit is for playing high res tracks from a streaming provider. with WIFI you may have short breaks while playing if the stream download is too slow.
You might get some result by running slower switch, like Fast Ethernet instead of Gigabit Ethernet. It also depends a lot on the Ethernet implementation of the streamer.
I meant if you stream to UPnP renderer. On the Mac it doesnโt matter if you use Fast, Gigabit Ethernet or WiFi for that matter (connection stability aside).
