I access Audirvāna remote via a newer iPad. When selecting a song in local music a different song than selected plays. I have tried defragmenting, etc., with no luck.

Do you have this issue if you try to play the same song using your computer instead of the Remote?
I do not. In fact, on my iPad with audirvana remote, if I choose the artist first it works fine.
Can you send some screenshots when you have this behavior?
There is nothing to see really. The song I pick is not shown as playing. The random song that does play is shown
