Yamaha np-s2000 installation

Dear all

I would like to ask you a help. I have bought an old Yamaha np-s2000 network player and I would like to manage it by Audinirvana installed on my iMac. I connected the player to the network but it isn’t seen by Audinirvana.

Can you help me please.

Thanks and regards

Can you dump the debug info here?

Thanks

But which info do you need please?

Just click Audirvana menu then just under it , debug Info, it will be copied automatically, you just have to comeback here and paste it in a new reply (cmd v)

Thnaks a lot

Gianfranco

The Yamaha is not detected on the network. Check the settings of the device to see if something needs to be enabled.

Hi Gianfranco!
Did you already try to reset the NP? You bought it used for sure, it’s long time out of the stores. You might need to do the firmware update after this. If the device has network connection, it will do it automatically.
I am very interested if you get it up and running if it plays gapless. With Audirvana and W10 it doesn’t.

Hi

thanks for your help. Yes I bought a used device. On the other end it seems quite fine from the point of view of specifications. At the end I was able to reset the NP, but I have another problem. In fact it works only mono, with one channel. I looked the debug setting and I observed this parameters. Could you suggest me which parameters I have to change and the new values, please?

Thanks and regards

Gianfranco

Hmmm, it might be broken.

I think so. You are using iTunes and Mac, correct? With both I have no experience, sorry. What is your source? Local files?
The switched off limit to 24-bit is of no significance, as is the MQA-autodetect. But Audirvana should recognise the NP with max 192kHz. You may check for other software to play to the NP. But that mono sound seems more likely to be a hardware issue. Can you choose between RCA (Chinch) and XLR?
Maybe I will be able to test my NP here this evening. I own the same device, but don’t use it actually, switched to a more modern one.

Right now checking…
Plays as always, brilliant, not gapless. With upsampling at 192 kHz. Your firmware should be 3.05. Hope you got the remote too…?
And the instructions?
