Apple M1 Max MACBOOK PRO MONTEREY ended before file end

Is this phenomena happens?

My Audirvana Mac Version 3.5.50 has small trouble.
With Mac Book Pro 13inch intel CPU works well, each playing file full uploaded before started process,
However after update to New MacBook Pro 14inch M1 Max CPU it works not perfect,.

Each music is not uploaded to buffer fully, and not completely uploaded through playing the music file, and suddenly ended.

Kenji, First thing to try is reduce your buffer to around 4gb and try that out. Enjoy your new Mac !

I tried this now.
Max. memory for audio buffers:
change from 15360MB to 8043MB.
However Same phenomena.
Preload stopped before horizontal bar not fully color changed.

But I found that internal Mac Audio device has not same trouble!
I will try to change the upsampling rate or chnge to DSD.

Some more expert than I will hopefully be along

I tried restrict upsampling rate from Device Capacity to 2 or 4 times from original rate.
The bar indicator is fully change before playing started.

But the problem is here.
One of the main reason of upgrade my Mac is to have the ability enhancement of PC to playing smoothly than before!! Reverse progress.
Unbelievable ne M1 Max is less ability than Internal Mac Audio device ?!

Kenji , here is my debug settings that work great for me with ifi dac and Mac Book Pro w/M1pro chip

It‘s about the DAC, not the Mac. It even rhymes.

Have you made sure you have latest ifi firmware updates?

I have the same problem with upnp Naim ND555 and mac m1 studio 1.8.5

Have you tried toggling the send as raw PCM switch?

As I mentioned little first,
I am using ZEN DAC signature2,
and I had no trouble such as I am suffering now by Late 2016 MacBook Pro.
Mac OS was same as now Monterey 12.0.1.

iFi issued Firmware/Driver for Windows USB – 5.12 and Windows USB 2.0 -3.2 issued but no firm ware for MAC issued by iFi for zen dac signature2.

The problem is simple
When I was using Mac Book Pro (Intel CPU) late 2016 , there was no problem.
After change to Mac Book Pro (M1 Max CPU) November 26, that insufficient buffering trouble began.
DAC is same iFi ZEN DAC signature 2.

Audirvana automatically changes parameter buffer memory.
No parameter has changed by me.

So I am using vacuum tube power amplifier, enough analog-tic sound, I don’t prefer DSD upsampling. And prefer automatically recognize MQA source.

According to bitracer advice, I had changed UPSAMPLING from 384 to 352.8.
Buffer began to work fully file buffering.

Thank you bitracer, Tentatively OK by this solution.
I can’t recognize the difference between 352.8 upsampling and 384 upsampling.

You can reduce the pre-cache allocation. Audirvana always tries to allocate as much memory as possible. This is not always desired. Reduce it to approx. the size of the typical file you’re playing. Start with around 4000MB.

1537 is automatically setting by audirvana :grinning:
My Mac has 32GB memory.

But another trouble happened.

After my changing upsampling rate and MIDI setting change to 352.8 , Audirvana shows alert and abend its system optimizer! Shows OS StatusERROR 22.

I will try another way.
First I will reduce buffer memory size to 4GB.
After cut and try , I will write here the result.
