[FIXED] Audio Units Not Working

I don’t recall. I don’t believe so.

Hello All,

The most recent update didn’t solve my AU issues. It didn’t make anything worse however… the crash Vule reports for example.

IIIRC, I used Audio Hijack to configure the AU (FabFilter Pro-Q 3), saved the settings and then loaded the saved settings into the Audirvana instance of the AU. Would of course be nice to be able to configure the AU directly in Audrivana.

Hmm… Crickets.

Apparently this forum requires 20 characters even if you don’t have 20 characters worth posting.

sigh

Same here, using El Capitan latest with newest Audirvana App in Test Version.
Every time i want to select an AU Plugin ( i even can not select any of them, not shown up)
Audirvana App crashed completely.
In other Apps like Logic, Audition etc all plugins are running fine
any idea ?

This application, or a library it uses, is using the deprecated Carbon Component Manager for hosting Audio Units. Support for this will be removed in a future release. Also, this makes the host incompatible with version 3 audio units. Please transition to the API’s in AudioComponent.h.

How do you mke the change mentioned? the transition to APIs etc.

With an older A. Plus version 3.2.15 all AUs are selectable and work flawlessly !

I am running 3.5.15 on a MBP (macOS 10.14.6) and the audio units only work if I have "Realtime control (not for DSD playback) selected. Then the gui for Pro-Q3 opens and I can adjust settings and hear the result. Once I deselect the realtime control slider, the a.u.'s stop working, both visually and audio-ly.

Same here, A+ is fine, Audirvana 3.5.15 is a no go.

I do have the same problems. Audio Units in Audirvana 3.5.15 can not be configured, while they do work in Audirvana plus.

I don´t know if there was a silence update, from from today it works as it should. I did not change anything, Audio Units just work.

I 've just checked on my Mac mini. Still no changes.:frowning_face:

When I opened App on my Mac mini I needed to enter License Key and configure Audirvana settings.
I also de-authorised my MacBook Pro ( where Audio Units work fine ) and checked again my Mac mini. Nothing.
Seems I’ll continue to use Audeze Reveal Plug In with Roon SW.

I checked and it’s still a “nope” for me. At this point I’d take a covert fix.
The silence on this and other issues from Audirvana support is baffling. At least an acknowledgement that these posts are being read - even if they don’t have a solution - would be a refreshing change.

I have the same issue with the license. Every few days I’ll launch 3.5.x to see if there is a software update (fix) and sometimes I have to re-enter, sometimes not. I just roll my eyes and do it.

Same problem for me on 3.5.16 which I just updated hoping it would help the problem with 3.5.15. The problem occurred the first time when I installed Reverberate Core from Liquidsonics to do convolution. Since then, no AU works. I have completely uninstalled everything, rebooted, etc… but the problem remains.
However, it works very fine on version 2.6.9 which I was using until I upgraded to 3.5 last week…
When the problem occurs a new DAC appears called CADefaultDeviceAggregate-2852-0 next to the other outputs possible, which is both strange and doesn’t help anything since you can’t do anything with it.
Hope this problem can be fixed quickly since I need convolution and UPnP, and Audirvana is useless without this working properly.
Thanks.
Philippe.

Can you first update to the latest version (3.5.16), and then send me by email or PM the crash report if you still get any crash, with details on how to reproduce?
Without such information, it is difficult to investigate…
That’s why I was asking also for logs form the Console.
@rshinze: Regarding the issue configuring the Audio Unit, do you get nothing, or a black screen? The later shows the Audio Unit is still using Open GL deprecated API that have been removed from Mojave when run on recent host applications.
What you have experienced shows the AU configuration works well with the old API (v2), but not with the one Apple is pushing for (V3).

Actually, I did update to 3.5.16. It doesn’t crash anymore. At least, I couldn’t replicate the crash, but nothing happens when I click on “configurer” in front of the AU I select, besides creating this strange new “DAC” output.
Here is the log on my computer. You can see this new “DAC” in the list as Device #1.

Thanks for these.
The CADefaultDeviceAggregate is an artefact of macOS when using some plugins. It has no consequences besides this unwanted audio device listed.
Can you click again on the “Configurer” button, with having launched the Console application before?
Then enter “AU editor” in the top right field of the console to show only lines from Audirvana on the AU configuration. Do you have one?
