I am currently doing the trial of Audirvana on the PC. I really do like the sound quality, when it works. Unfortunately it keeps crashing when using Tidal. It’s not every track, but it happens more often than not. Sometimes I can reload the app and it will crash two or three times before I can listen to a track.
The caveat here is when I am playing FLAC locally, or MQA locally I do not experience the same issue. The app will typically run for days without a hiccup if its local. The very second I start hitting Tidal again, it’s crash after crash.
I would love to buy the app but this was a huge reason I want to purchase it. If you need logs please let me know what to post next because this is ruining an otherwise good product.

Below are the logs that you requested. Its odd, it basically fullscreens the app when it happens then locked up indefinitely. But you can see below there are FATAL errors. I grepped the logs for Tidal since it appears there is nothing else of value in there but these.
What am I looking for on their website? My Sub is up to date and I use it all the time. I am having some strange issue where some of the songs get truncated. I think that is only when my VPN is on. But it should still play at least what its downloaded of the track.
In this case it just locks up, and crashes. I did notice I see this behavior far less when my VPN is off and my firewall is disabled, but it’s still present, just way less in frequency.
On the Tidal website, the worst thing that happens ever is the song cuts out early, which I have seen many happen several times seamlessly on Audirvana, but the Tidal app never crashes and locks up like this. I would blame it on my WASPI drivers but it doesn’t happen when the files are loading locally.
What I honestly think is happening, and this is just a hunch for seeing similar behavior on local files. The stream buffers open on the application, and hold all your resources hostage until it gets the first part, or x-amount of audio processed and buffered. I see the exact same local behavior when an HDD is spinning up, or a file is slow to load, and the app will hang to that point. I personally feel that if Tidal download fails for any reason, or drops before x-seconds of audio is buffered, then Audirvana just locks up and keeps waiting for a download that will never happen instead of timing out.
If what I am describing above is true, then this is a bug that probably needs to be fixed, or at least a debug setting that needs to be made available to users to enable.
Let me reiterate a little more on this. I should say in the first paragraph that if doesn’t happen locally, but it does lock up until the file eventually loads. The Tidal files on the other hand, if they don’t load, the app I think can’t recover.
I have the same issues. Local files are Ok and can continue to be accessed and played. However, for Tidal music - it will hang up Audirvana and not load files after a while. There is definitely a problem with Windows 10 version compatibility with Tidal.

Luckily I zipped the folder when I was getting the logs before, as the current dmp is 0kb. Sending one of the ones that I have zipped from the same email that attached to this account.
As Eugene is saying, its something bizarre where Tidal doesnt send the song fast enough, or it times out and the app is toast.
There is one other strange issue, on occasion it will do this, but the track will play. But the app locks up completely, refreshes the view literally every 30 seconds (you can see the counter move only at 30s, 1m, 90s, 2m, etc) and it will continue like this until the next track loads, then it resumes to normal until it does it again or crashes.
Really hoping that someone can assist with this and possibly extend my trial. If this thing actually worked it would be an incredible app! But as of now I have had such horrible performance I have simply stopped using it with Tidal.

same issue here. Tidal freezes and crashes Audirvana all the time. I am too on a trial, I love the sound quality but not willing to purchase before this is fixed. (Windows 10 Home Edition). Hoping for a fix!

Once it starts loading a Tidal track that it fails on, the app is locked up and there is no clicking buttons. You can leave it for 10 minutes, sometimes will just die on its own, other times will just hang. If you attempt to click on anything all you get is the End Task/Wait screen.
I wish that there was something better I could tell you. I sent out the crash dump as requested. But my trial is ending Sunday so I have no way of continuing this unless someone can authorize an extension for me while we work through this.
Hello Sir, same issue going on with me (using Windows10) and seems to be getting worse over the past few days. Same as above concerns: freezes even when just skipping to the next tract. It’s happened with both Qobuz and Tidal. It starts to “act up” by having a delay when clicking on any of the buttons (forward track, clicking on the next track). I even uninstalled and reinstalled today and no luck. Not a free trial either, I went all in with fingers crossed.
Similar situation
for a few days. I use a Naim Uniti Nova. But it crashes even if I use the PC speakers! It doesn’t seem like an upnp / dlna problem. Especially freezes if you change songs of the same album (app with windows 10) with both tidal and qobuz never on files in the HDD
I also formatted the pc and reinstalled audirvana. the problem remains. I have the license, but having formatted the pc twice … without deactivating the license … now I use a trial version. the problem is always the same (I am also waiting for the license to be restored) thanks for the support!
Same issue. Constantly have to restart Audirvana when stopping a track in Tidal to change VST-3 eq, or other settings. Sometimes just changing tracks within an album will crash Audirvana! Have to wonder what the developer is up to. Appears to be $$ down the drain!
I’m so glad to see that this Tidal issue isn’t just my rig. I really hope they get this fixed and extend the trial out so I can have a legit trial of the product.
If the issue is that the download “fails” and times out, then so be it, but the application needs to be smart enough to timeout or even report an error playing the track, rather than locking up. I noticed that it does the same on a slower USB drive that I have, and will lockup the app.
I suspect this would probably be only a few lines of code to address this issue, and shouldn’t take more than a few hours for the developer to debug. Good news is there are enough of us complaining about the same problem, they will hopefully see the issue and address it quickly.
