Found the problem. I’ve been caught out by the tiny text on Studio’s screens. There is a very small link on the Preferences/My Account page (at the top, next to my name) ‘Click here to disconnect’. Completely missed it all day until I was looking for a ‘log out’ option.
Previously I was using the Manage account options which goes to the website, and disconnecting from there, which didn’t work.
I’ve had no problems with running a headless MacMini with AV since 2013.
My computers receive an IP address from the router here through DHCP. (IPv4). And for IPv6 the configuration is set to Automatically in my MacBook Air’s network settings.
I humbly admit that my ears are no longer good enough to detect objective differences between the qobuz app, audirvana 3.5 or AS 1.5, when I switch from one app to the other I sometimes hear differences but I attribute them mostly to my ears and myself.I don’t deny these differences but I worry when some people hear more bass, more treble or other differences between the players, because these players are not there to modify the frequency balance or to modify the signal, it must simply be as precise as possible to send to the DAC a signal as identical as possible to the original digital file by preventing any digital interference. If I want more treble, less bass or colorize the signal I can do it with the amp, the speakers even the room. I’m not a specialist but I understand that it’s my DAC that transforms the digital signal into an analog signal, not the player. The player should not modify the digital signal, only purify it as much as possible. And the result can be better sound sensation but not so big différences.
I like the sound quality of AS but I am now no longer able to make playlists from my music files after previously being able to do so. I can do this on 3.5 without issues.
The analyzing of my audio files never ends. I have reinstalled AS a couple of times and reconfigured my files to attempt to get the analyzing completed. The third time I did this I got the closest getting further than ever before but cannot complete the process without omitting a fair amount of files which defeats the purpose of having my library on AS.
I subscribed for a year as the price I was offered was good but would not renew unless things get a lot better. I am now having a bit of buyers remorse.
I remember that you started your trial period with V1.O.
Are you experiencing issues with the PC version of AS to have an endless analysis? Or do you have an unusually huge library?
Hi Doudou,
Yes, I started with 1.0 and have updated from there. Never had analyzing finish. I have Windows and 25,000 tracks of FLAC & WAV. My files are in 14 folders that I did reconfigure some to see if it would help and it did. I reinstalled AS twice and added 1 folder at a time and got the analyzing to finish after each file until the last one which is quite large. The purple analyzing bar went all the way across to 100% but never finished. Now when restarting AS the purple bar goes to about 60% and stops never advancing further.
I think it is an issue with Windows as others have experienced the same. I listen to mostly my music but also Qobuz which works great on AS and 3.5.
I also listen a lot to Radio Paradise, especially the eclectic/world mix which sounds good on AS but it doesn’t give artist/track info so I tend to listen more to it on Jriver.
AS seems to do better on a MAC but it is a work in progress I guess.
I do find the sound quality very good on AS.
I’ve finally got it done with 1.4.5 but it took many retries and freezes along the way. Everytime I succesfully imported a folder I copied the database file of Audirvana to a seperate folder. And if Audirvana would freeze I would copy the backup back to it’s original location. That would also unfreeze the program, so the freezes are definately caused by the database itself.
It’s definately an issue with the Windows version as I didn’t have a problem at all on my Mac.
One thing I did notice is that I had a handful of files and folders that contained a % in their names. Audirvana would freeze when trying to analyze them. But after changing their names, by removing the %, it would analyze them succesfully. Might be the case at your computer as well. Still odd that the Mac version of AS didn’t crash on them.
My library is about the same size as yours. Just over 28500 files and contains mp3, aac and flac files. It’s size shouldn’t be an issue as there a lot of people here who have far larger libraries.
I really hope you are able to finish analyzing someday. Or that @Antoine builds in the option to disable it altogether.
Thanks for sharing your findings. I have tried some things that helped but can’t get some files finished. The % in files is something I had no idea about and will definitely look into.
Happy listening!
Thank you for the feedback.
I can also play purchased local audio files.
What is not working is the remote for HRA streaming.
I just get “request error” for every album I try to play
Sometimes odd accented characters cause issues too ,also an ellipsis ie … and quote marks . An apostrophe is of course a comment marker in VB , many web sites fail on that
can’t reproduce on my keyboard but German umlaut ,Scandinavian o with a slash etc . Anything straight English and I assume French should be ok
I have no active subscription of HRA anymore (Qobuz gives me more), so I can´t check for you, but I meant, I can stream my purchased albums within Audirvana, they are not locally stored. What do you mean with “remote”?
