In Picard click right on the album or track you have modified and choose ‘Save’. If that does not work for you, check if the folder you are writing to is not ‘read only’. You can also try to run Picard as ‘administrator’ if you are writing to folders with administrative rights.
Thanks @AndyLubke. I’ll give it a go once I drag myself off the couch… TV on silent. AUDIRVĀNA providing piano.
Didier, you are 100% right. A business model who does not respect their clients will not survive. I have already left their vessel disappointed by their mutism.
Haven’t, no. Worth a try!
Thanks, @Doudou and @AndyLubke for the hints!
It occurred to me that when using SongKong as the tagger, sometimes things don’t look right. SongKong also uses acoustic fingerprinting and it’ll indicates if it has a match in MusicBrainz/Discogs. I do not check the ID/catalogue/Disc # individually, but I often see in the composer field that they are really messed up. I tend to check many albums individually also in Mp3tag and correct them if necessary. I certainly agree that MusicBrainz is often faulty and I have to check tags as well in Spotify (which has a great databank!) or Allmusic.
Exhaustive tagging is hard work, but not subject of this thread.
Andy,
I still can’t PM you. Send me a PM, I have something interesting to tell you, and I don’t want to derail this thread. .
Sometime, it may be useful to use these automated tagging services in order to populate the tags. But automatic tagging sucks. They may be OK for rock and pop, but I have a lot of classical music, and for classical music they are useless.
I do all the tagging manually.
Look what the MusicBrainz tags that were added to the library of AS did to the tracks of this guy.
I advised him to use Google Traslate to find out which track is what…
Delete said tracks.
Apologies. Should have read: Delete said metatag entry. The reference should disappear. Unless it is in several tracks. Then go to Tracks, Sort via whatever field. Delete reference bulk. That’s what I do!
Don’t do anything I say unless you backup.
Yes, I realise that manual tagging is better, I, too, found some weird genres in my albums. For example, one of Baby Face Willette‘s albums (Jazz Hammond organ) was tagged as ,soft rock‘
, probably because the automatic tagging process mistakenly associated the album with The Small Faces or similar!
Wow, never take care of my music at this level. In fact for me counts only artist, title, album. I never look at other fields. Is important to be good/very good quality and on my taste. I listen to jaaz (from 1960 until now),rock, pop, dance, club, house, trance, electronic, instrumental, country, new age. In the last week listened predominantely to 70-80 rock, especially big names. While i listen to music more than the people around me I’m not at your level. Respect and hats off!
Congratulations
You are the top poster in this thread.
Currently at 76 posts, you must be very passionate about an AS trial extension. Damien will surely be proud
Cheers!
Thank you newbie, to the trial and to the thread, for checking such statistics and giving me an occasion to increase my score.
Yes, I agree, AS is absolutely unstable and not finished, still the same old bugs with v1.5, not seen with A3.5 nor Qobuz. Differences with A 3.5 very difficult to see with most of streamed music pieces. No answer from Audirvana support, although some mails and site messages left… We are not in a “friend to friend arrangement” here but in a pure business model application and I’ve to admit I’m truly disappointed. It’s a pity.
@ briawyer : Absolutely right, here’s no “exemple à donner aux étrangers”… why ? A french company have or should have the same requirements to gain a new market with a fine and reliable solution as foreign companies. Nothing to do with “emotional” decisions here. When used you’ve to pay with a monthly or annual amount of money ! With AS story now you don’t get a gift or… ??
I did not say the contrary, and I did not tell the guy to subscribe to AS despite its flaws, because it’s a French company.
I just told him to wait for the remote. After this endless trial, it would cost him nothing to wait for it and to see then if the offer of Audirvana is valid or not.
EDIT
I believe that you came to the trial lately. If you have been here before, you could not miss that I’ve been one of the most vocal critics of the issues that we encountered with AS. Being French does not dismiss it from the obligation to work perfectly well.
I’m waiting for all correction bugs and remote for subscribe.
They should increase the size of the user unfriendly small fonts.
Following the release of the iOS remote app, we thought it would be more convenient to give to everyone who have been in trial until today (June 28) an extension of trial for free until July 28.
Are you also going to add a column browser, like you had in version 3.2.20, @Antoine?
