Automatic update to 3.0?

Did my Mac just automatically install Studio 3.0? Drat! Buggy, clunky, and I have to sign in every time it opens. Is there anyway I can download the old version?

Now it quits every 20 minutes, saying it can’t connect to my license. Someone help, please. I’m ready to cancel.

Have you disconnected from AS in settings/my account then re-opened AS and re-signed in?

Works fine for me and not seen this one reported in the beta so would appear to be specific to your update. Any error messages? Can you log into your Audirvana account at Audirvana.com?

Thank you for replying. I’ll try. The most annoying thing is the inability to maintain consistent window size, which drove me crazy in 2.XX until it was finally fixed. Now it’s back and I have to shift the window all over the place everytime I want to access a button or control.

PS I’m on an older Mac OS but it’s still valid. I shouldn’t have these problems.

Audirvana does not provide links to superseded software for good reason. However if you pm me your email address I can send you a link to a personal shared folder with 2.11.0. Obviously you would have to turn off notifications about updates to avoid being bugged with new software notifications when you open the app.

I had several issues with the design of the new UI but have grown accustomed to it during the beta and no longer feel a desire to revert to version 2 as there are many enhancements in the version 3 release. Perhaps if you post some screenshots of the issues you are having it would help users to offer some advice/solutions.

You don’t have a back-up somewhere?

Changes to macOS requirements
We are doing our utmost to maintain compatibility for as long as possible, and sometimes reach the limits of older macOS versions: 10.13 (High Sierra) 10.14 (Mojave)
Starting with the version 2.11.5 of Studio and 2.6.5 Origin, those above macOS versions won’t receive updates from the software. Please update your macOS to macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or a newer version.

**Please paste your debug information so you can get the best possible feedback regarding your Mac platform in relationship to Audirvāna 3 set-up.

Don’t forget to back-up your settings/preferences file(s) or save a copy to the desktop…

Thank you both for the assistance. I’m on Monterey 12.7.5 so that shouldn’t be a problem. The two main issues I’m having are, 1) most seriously, AS shutting down mid-album saying it has lost the connection to my license, and 2) the window constantly resizing every time I switch albums or change to a different frame. Full-screen doesn’t fit properly so that doesn’t work. And I use drag-and-drop a lot so I’m constantly switching between the ā€œFavoritiesā€ and the track frame. As it is now, I have to drag the window back and forth and up and down to do anything I usually do. This was once a problem with 2.XX but it was finally resolved. I’ll see if I can post the debug info.

I would take you up on your offer if I can figure out how to pm you. It says you aren’t accepting messages…?

  1. Do you have anything on your Mac that could interfere with the network connection?

  2. When you double-click on the header, does it resize?

Please paste your debug information here so we can see your system resources and general Audirvāna synergies…

Is your Apple computer platform a MacMini running headless?

:musical_notes: :eye: :nose: :eye: :musical_notes:

No, not headless, it’s connected to a TV.

  1. No, nothing interfering with my internet.
  2. Yes, it resizes but now it won’t fit the screen horizontally at all.

Should I try trashing the preferences and re-installing? My favorites and playlists are all on Qobuz and I don’t use AS for my local library, so I don’t think I’d lose anything.

That’s always a solution and you could make a backup of the settings nonetheless by making screenshots and/or copy the debug info before you do so.

Before trashing the preferences…
Try reducing your playback preload memory allocation to 1Gb or less…

You may want to review your grounding scheme when connecting to your TV in concert with your DAC, etc, to eliminate or mitigate ground-differential gremlins (ground-loops).

SplashTop Remote could be interfering with Audirvāna Studio 3 core system access/functionality.

Have set settings to allow messages. Apologies, did not know it was off.

No problem! Some progress here. I threw out the preferences and did a fresh install. The window is behaving now and retains the proper size, which is a big improvement. It still asks me to sign in every time–is that normal now? As long as it doesn’t quite after 15-20 minutes I think I’m okay. It does sound better than the old version, more refined.

No, signing in every time is not normal. I only ever have to sign in after deliberately disconnecting, otherwise sign in once only.

Hmm, well then there’s still something amiss. As long as it doesn’t sign me out in the middle to an album. I’ll see tonight.
