Were you using WASAPI or Kernel Streaming before you started getting your behavior?

I always use this setting as a fixed setting in Kernel Streaming.

The video related with EQ graphical issue.

I don’t know if the Audioscan processing is working correctly or not, however, you may find this information about (MP3) MPEG-1 Audio Layer III of value… The term “lossy” must be put into context, relative to the encoded digital-audio data encapsulated in the format wrapper… The streaming service providers may take advantage of MPEG-1 Audio Layer III, in order to reduce superfluous data in their vast catalogs of 16/44.1/48kHz files so to reduce storage costs and transmission bandwidth, ISP overhead.

From the Wikipedia article “MP3”

MP3 as a file format commonly designates files containing an elementary stream of MPEG-1 Audio or MPEG-2 Audio encoded data. Concerning audio compression, which is its most apparent element to end-users, MP3 uses lossy compression to reduce precision of encoded data and to partially discard data, allowing for a large reduction in file sizes when compared to uncompressed audio.

This may also be of value…

ALAC data is frequently stored within an MP4 container with the filename
extension
.m4a .

Thanks for the info. Just as Antoine stated I think it is just the number of false positives have increased. Noticed it yesterday when most 16/44.1 files bought as CD quality from Qobuz were reported as 320 kbps MP3. Today checked again with 10 albums and only 3 were reported as MP3. Have also noticed a file yesterday that was flagged as MP3 was today reported as CD quality. Not bothered about it……….

Musicalement

You can create ‘Smart’ Album Playlists using “Sample-Rate” and “Bit-Depth”, etc, and ‘Filter’ any Album Playlist to refine the selection(s)… And add the track display criteria to reflect the file-type and sample-rate.

C’est quelque chose que nous pouvons envisager, mais nous n’avons pas encore décidé de la marche à suivre sur l’affichage de ces données.

Strange things: I got a message saying that a new version (3.0) was available. I clicked on OK to update. Downloading started and then an error. Now, I’m still with the old version (2.99.23) but whe I click on “Check new version” I find V3.0 but impossible to update….

Any reason for that?

To be more precise, the message says ‘There is a V3.0 version, your version is 2.99.23 and is up to date…..

Strange…

We had an issue, but it’s now fixed

Ok, thanks Antoine!

Ok if my understanding is correct: now we have to download the new version 3.0 and install it instead of having it as an update?

At leat, that what’s I did.

Eric

Correct, when you click on the Learn More button, it redirects to the download page to get the 3.0.

It’s only for macOS beta testers. I will do a post about it tomorrow.

Ok, that’s what I did.

I will continue testing.

Do you plan an update of the Remote for iOS?

Eric

Yes, Apple is doing it’s thing for it

Good plan! Will see what Apple can do for us…

Bonne fin de journée.

Eric

Somehow Audirvana has updated to version 3.0. I did not sign up for beta. It appears that it has reset all settings and plugins. How can I revert? Why would something this broken be pushed automatically?

It’s out of beta and not broken.
