Nothing is changed. Audirvana doesn’t recognize DSD512, there isn’t option DSD Over PCM: None.

Where is the problem? There isn’t possibility to play Native DSD.

There is no problem.
Native DSD can only be played over a Windows ASIO driver (provided by your DAC manufacturer).

All other protocols (WASAPI and Kernel Streaming) can only do DoP (DSD over PCM). If you set your output to ASIO in Audirvana you can do native DSD upto DSD512 (if you have the ASIO driver from Hifi Rose installed).

Maybe you don’t know this, but DSD over PCM (DoP) is also native DSD but ‘disguised’ in a PCM container (to fool the OS). This is recognized by your DAC and restored to DSD again. There are some limitations. In this case with the Hifi Rose the maximum DSD rate over DoP is DSD256 and not DSD512.

These are not limitations of Audirvana and the Hifi Rose, but simply how Windows OS and MacOS work. It does not matter if you are using Audirvana, Roon, JRiver or Foobar etc. These limitations are always the same.

Wow. Lots of manuals and info there. Yep probably somewhere in there :wink:

I installed ASIO driver from Rose HiFi and everything looks like below:

Rose playing DSD as WAV. When I had ROON and I played DSD files, Rose shows DSD not WAV. Isn’t the same way playing DSD by Audirvana and ROON? I’m playing over ethernet (UPNP), not by USB.

It makes sense that your Hifi Rose is displaying WAV

In your settings DSD is literally converted to PCM that is not right (and also not the same as DoP or native). You should choose another setting there. I don’t know which options you can choose from, but there should be something like ‘native DSD’ or ‘native’.

But there are certified settings by Audirvana (plays with Audirvana certified). When I try to change manually I have these settings to choose:

When I choose DSD over PCM 1.0 or 1.1 - Rose playing this as WAV 24/176,4kHz :thinking:

Next thing - when I play flac file 24/192 from Qobuz - Rose shows WAV 24/192.

Yes UPnP has a lot of limitations for DSD. I don’t know the max DSD sampling rate for UPnP in this case, but I would not be surprised if it is DSD64 or DSD128 at best.

I thought you where showing me the settings for ASIO. ASIO directly connected via USB is the only way you can play native DSD.
You can only do DoP over UPnP. With UPnP choose ‘DSD over PCM 1.1’. As said you will probably have a limited max DSD samplerate.

Try to connect your Hifi Rose directly via USB to your computer and play through ASIO. As said, that is the only way for native DSD at the full sampling rate (DSD512).

Since your device is now recognized as PWA, are you using the latest firmware update available for it?

Yes, the device was update and has the latest firmware 4.7.01. Please contact Rose Team in this case, maybe problem is somewhere else.

We got the update on our booth at the Paris Audio Video Show on a ROSE unit last Monday :fire:

There is a problem with gapless playback.
When I listen some live albums, there is 1 or 2 second pause between tracks.

When I play DSD - gapless never works. Everything else from Tidal, Qobuz or local files except DSD works properly.

I see, so gapless with PCM is working properly but not with DSD, can you contact them about this manner and check if they get the same behavior on their end? I do not have the unit here at the office so I can’t reproduce this on my side :frowning:
