Last.fm scrobling

Good morning, my apologies, I am a total neophyte, could you please explain to me what it is for or how Last.fm works, thank you very much for your time!!

Hi., I am thinking about an Audirvana Origin W10 home server with Fidelizer, RME ADI-2 DAC and HDPlex and I can’t do it because there is no support for last.fm scrobbling in Audirvana Origin. Is it planned to do it?

Hi @LETRA,

For what I can recall, we do not plan to add Last.fm in Audirvāna Origin.

Last-FM is very popular among the music servers and communities on Discord. There are bots that integrate with Last-FM and provide community statistics. When meeting a new person in these community servers, the last-fm bots allow you to type a command and find out what music you have in common. This makes it great to start conversations and develop friendships around artists.

Dealbreaker for me. There is no reason not to do it…

What’s with this ā€˜everything must be connected to everything else’ mindset… Get over it!
Audirvana is a music player, you want social media there’s plenty to choose from.

Why, just get Studio? It’s a commercial decision.

For API based services you need Studio subscription as it requires Audirvana to keep up with API changes. It’s a reasonable ask.

You know what? You are right. It is all about the music. And Audirvana is the best sounding player I’ve ever heard.

Thank you.

I only meant dealbreaker for the Origin version. I have a large local collection and Apple Music because of my family. So no need for another streaming service

My Pleasure… enjoy.

Smart business decision. I don’t know why 99% of the world’s music players have not taken it. The important thing is to satisfy the needs of the customers. I’m sure they will continue to thank you.

+1 for reconsidering the Last.fm support for Origin.

Unless I misunderstand the difference between Origin and Studio, it seems super reasonable for a music enthusiast to track their listening history.

I thought the difference between the two is the type of license/update process?

All my local music players do support Last.fm, not sure why this should be something for Studio only?

Right. I still haven’t bought Origin because of the missing Last.fm support. I don’t want to subscribe to Studio, because I own my music. And I like to own the app too.

Studio has Last.fm stuff, Origin doesn’t, that’s the choice you make.

OKay

Just wanted to add that Audirvana users having voted for this suggestion can remove their vote now, as scrobbling has been implemented, so they can use their limited votes on some suggestions which are not implemented yet.
