MacOS Sonoma 14.1.1 Scanning library shown up every time

Well the Sanning Music Library .musiclibrary every single time,
when i remove my library close the player readd my library and artist cover fix the issue for a while
but after some use of the player and etc keeps shown up again its so annoying,

Team please take a look on this one too if you may!

Suggest you post your debug information. This does not occur for me with 14.1.1 running AS 2.5.2 on a MacBook Pro. I have my library installed on the 4TB internal SSD in my MBP. Sounds like your library files are on an external disk?

ill do it, seems happened randomly and when i open Apple Logic Pro…

OK, I also have Logic Pro 10.8 (latest version) on my MacBook Pro and have not (as yet… about 10 attempts) been able to reproduce your issue. I notice your local library is stored on the internal SSD of your Mac Studio so an external disk is not the cause.

A couple of things, that should not be causing this issue, but are worth trying in order to optimise your system.

  1. Your max memory for Audirvana buffering is set at default 29,696 MB out of 32 GB Ram total. This is too high. This is not leaving enough Ram for the OS and open apps to function if Audirvana starts using up the allocation. I have 96GB Ram in my MacBook Pro but set the Audirvana memory allocation for buffering at only 8,000 MB ram. I never have an issue upsampling PCM to 768 kHz with 8,000 MB allocation and neither should you on your mac.

  2. Turn on Large Core Audio I/O Buffer in DAC settings for your Mac speakers/headphone output. Have seen a post where turning this on is recommended by Damien.

  3. Try toggling the setting for Rescan Network Folders at each start off (Audirvana settings, local page) this should not make a difference as your drive is internal but weirder things have occurred in my settings…

Give them a go and see what happens…whilst waiting for someone with more technical insight to chime in.

Only other thing I can think of is a glitch in your database file. If you have not already done so I would do the following.

Copy your Audirvana Database file elsewhere. Create a backup of your favourites / playlists / artist pictures (Audirvana settings / Local / bottom of the page). Then delete your database file from /Users/johnny/Library/Application Support/Audirvana/AudirvanaDatabase.sqlite. Reopen Audirvana and allow it to create a new database, wait for it to complete scanning. Finally restore your favourites / playlists / artists pictures from the backup made earlier (Audirvana settings, Local Page, restore)

See if that solves it… if not you can always copy your old database file back into the Application Support/Audirvana/ folder if the new one does not solve the issue.

  1. its the default setting but even i lower it does the same issue.
  2. i enable it but no helping with the issue
  3. i keep it off

as for the database i remove the library and re-add it, even without favourites and playlist etc back the issue still happend…so its not the database

the issue happened even i open apple music, its so so weird and annoying…

When you say remove the library did you just disconnect the folder within Audirvana (settings, local) or did you delete the database file from the folder application support \ Audirvana?

i press delete (trash icon) to remove my library from the player then i re-add it

but i made a clean install of the audirvana too and have the same again issue

the worst part is that my music cut on first start, for example i open the player and start a song…
that happened with every day i test, on tv speaker hdmi works without cut mac onboard audio too…
plus player had i delay on start playback and stop audio on dacs with tv speakers and onboard mac audio is instant…

Not sure pressing the trash icon within Audirvana local settings deletes the file or just wipes the library contents still leaving the rest of the file containing DAC settings, configuration setting etc intact. Will check when I get home in half an hour or so.

but i made a totally clean install of the player and gives the same issue
now works but i do something else like open the logic or the apple music or something similar the issue comes on…plus that audio issues make it painful sadly

thank you for you assist and help my friend btw!

Ok good luck

Hi @JohnnyFire,

Can you go in the Audirvāna settings and in the My account section? You will see a button ‘Start Log Session’, click on it and then reproduce your issue. After you reproduced it, click on ‘Stop Log Session’ and then send me the log file you can find by clicking on the button ‘Open Log Folder’ at support@audirvana.com

done it and send 2 different debugs to be sure!

@Antoine Still happened on version 2.5.6 when i use single folder adding.
