Should I step over to studio?

Hi there

I consider to step up from 3.5.50 to studio, but;

In my subscription 3.5.50 I nowadays see Tidal bitrates 24/192 in audirvana plunge to 16/44.

I also read in this topic more users experience the same issue, and no reply from audirvana technicians what causes this and what must be done to avoid this.

It is simple; I do not want to start a
Studio subscription wi toh monthly payment as long as this will not be solved.

Does anyone of you know EXACTLY WHAT CAUSES THIS AND HOW THIS CAN BE SOLVED?

Thank you!

Tidal streaming through MacBook /audirvana 3.5.50

Audirvana 3.5 is a legacy version and not updated anymore. Tidal abandoned MQA in favor of high-res flac a while ago. Audirvana 3.5 was already legacy then so Tidal’s interface (API) is not compatible anymore with Audirvana 3.5 (for 24/192)…
Therefore you won’t see Tidal bitrates of 24/192 in Audirvana 3.5.

Audirvana Studio is the current version and works (as far as I know) fine with Tidal 24/192 (I am a Qobuz user myself).

You seem to have the impression that this is a long standing bug in Audirvana but that is not the case at all. When Tidal changed from MQA to flac this was updated in Audirvana Studio and works fine. Maybe you misunderstood some of the posts about the issue on this forum?

Dear andylubke

Thank you for your explanation. Clear enough. :+1::+1:

I will take a free trial subscription for studio. Does this not affect my streaming playlists?

Playlists made within Tidal or Qobuz will still be visible in Studio. But you can try all that out if you do the free trial.

You can keep Audirvana 3.5 on your computer when you install Studio so you can still use 3.5 as a separate program and no data is lost in 3.5. If/when you decide to remove Studio then Audirvana 3.5 will still be there.

Thx andyLubke

Today my trial version 2.9.3 was updated to 2.9.4 and since I notice clicks during the playback.

Anyhow, I am not totally convinced since does not hear a significant musical improvement.

More information is needed… Are the ‘clicks’ random or predictable? When do they occur during playback? Switching tracks or sample-rates? etc…

Please paste your debug information report here…
It is found here: Settings–> My Account–> Help–> Debug info

You may not perceive a significant difference in playback sound-quality…

Same here, I am in trial mode with studio and MacBook Pro, but nothing but disaster, every day it looses connection with my amplifier (but present in the network) comes with volume warnings (audirvana sets it to max), installation of sysoptimiser. I have to reinstall 2.9.4 daily and then pray if it works…

I respect the makers of this software but let me be clear; for a monthly fee I expect flawless working software and not bothering it but just listening the music.

Sorry that you are having issues, however I would suggest that as this issue has been solved, that you repost your post to its own new thread so that support and users here can look at it and try and help you get some resolution as soon as possible. :+1:

Dear Damien

2.9.4.1 works.

Merci

Solution 2.9.4.1 does not work for me;

  • amplifier (with build in DAC) again lost in audirvana processing menu
  • again I need to instal sys optimizer
  • volume goes to max

@Audioaddict You are allocating 6GB of you 8GB System RAM for playback pre-load memory buffering… macOS Sequoia and Sonoma are large.… Lower your playback pre-load memory to 2GB or less.
If the System requires more RAM than is available for CPU functions, it will be forced to use “Virtual Memory” where the System drive storage space is utilized for memory operations… This “disc swap” operation precipitates CPU interrupt wait-times that will affect playback performance, due to loss of synchronization along the signal path, and I/O bus management buffers/accumulators, contributing to the “Jitter Stew” of your system and in worse-case scenarios, loss of data in transmission… These System level operational interrupts are exacerbated when the Music Library is stored on the same drive as the System.

@Agoldnear

Thank you so much for your help en effort. I will lower it to 2 gb.
(I did not change anything after installing AS thus it must have been from 3.5 version)

I Keep you informed if AS will be working as required.

@Agoldnear

Unfortunately after setting RAM buffer to 2 gb and restart this morning still the processing window does not show my amplifier (while it is present in modem page).

Whatever I tried today, H9 (amplifier network name) doesn’t show up.
No clue left to solve this issue.

Have you removed your Audirvana Studio preferences file yet? (see solution below, which is showing where Audirvana Studio preferences file is found… save it to your desktop for back-up.)

Hi @Audioaddict,

Please enable Audirvāna on your mac firewall:

Check the firewall settings: In System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options > Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections check that this setting is selected and “Block all incoming connections” is not selected.

Please disable the software volume control in the audio settings of Audirvāna, and you will see the actual volume of your device.

Regarding Sysoptimizer, do you get this even each time you try to install it?

@Antoine

Thanks for your help, regarding security and Privacy; I have no Firewall option.

@Antoine

firewall settings is in network, it is set this way

did not have to change anything

Check in privacy settings of Mac… local network tab

Strange indeed, do you have a different software that might block access of Audirvāna Studio to your local network?
