SMSL C100 DSD capability not detected by Audirvana

I understand…
My question pertains to the synergy of using your r8Brain settings in-concert with the ā€˜STD’ and ā€˜MIN’ filter settings of the iFi NEO and your impressions of the sound-quality when these filters are applied to the DSD256 signal from r8Brain+Audirvana … The filters in the IFi NEO work on the output signal of the DAC.

When making changes to the stop band attenuation level, trust your own ears… You are making the determination on your playback system, not from a subjective assessment made from somebody else’s playback system.

Listening to music is a state of mind.
I went back to 218db and will listen calmly for a few days.

Speaking of getting older, this reminds me of my 70s.
Fortunately, with my ears still perfect, I’d better listen to music and worry less about adjustments.

This hobby is an addiction, we always want to achieve better quality.

But my intention was precisely this, not to have filters in the DAC.

I’m a Barbra Streisand fan.
Listening to this album on DSD256 was fantastic.

Originally 16/44Khz.

I don’t want to bias your interpretation of the result of adding the IFi filters to the DSD256 signal by adding more here… However, I will say this… Ultimately it is all about the sound-quality of the playback on your system. When you have explored all of the avenues available, you will find the sound that is most satisfying for you with or without applying the filters, especially now that you have heard the results of changing the ā€˜stop band attenuation’ level on the sound of the playback… …Your impressions will be of great value… :sunglasses: :+1:
