What set up DOES NOT work for you with Audirvana Studio

BTW I am reading raving reviews about the new Cyrus i7/i9 XR series. Should I ever replace my Devialet, the Cyrus i9-XR looks really, really promising!

Hi @Sailor

Yeah, Cyrus appear to have pretty much rebuilt the internal electronics from the previous Classic series, and as you say the reviews look very promising. Cyrus can be a little ‘marmite’ (you either love the sound or hate it), but I’ve been using their products since 2000 and really wouldn’t want to jump ship now. Maybe give the i7 or i9 an audition?

:notes: :eye: :headphones: :eye: :notes: @Sailor … You are making my point about these distributed high-resolution digital-audio networking scenarios… too many variables come into play to conclusively pin reliability and sound-quality on a single aspect of the playback system in any given system configuration…

I will for sure have a listen! For the moment, though, my Devialet is still going strong!

Devialet is VERY decent kit, and if it still works (and more importantly you’re still happy with the sound it gives) then why change?
I honestly believe that most sellers of high-end hi-fi were probably snake-oil salesmen in a previous life

Indeed, it is a fest fine kit of equipment, and the sound is fantastic! There’s an upgrade road I could take, from the Expert to Pro type. The Pro uses a somewhat refined amplifier, though many say the difference in sound is negligible. BUT, the Pro version is Roon-ready as opposed to Roon-tested. This doesn’t matter much to me as I am not a Roon boy. But it also has built-in UPnP, which is very interesting for using AS. I have to search the Devialet forum to find out how well it works with AS.
The upgrade is quite costly, just under 3K Euros, so quite hefty. This kind of money is within reach of the new Cyrus XR models.
I am really fond of those highly integrated systems, that’s why I bought the Devialet in the first place. But I am not so sure how long Devialet will develop their Expert/Pro systems further as their interest seem to lie in their flashy speakers.
I‘ll take my time to decide which route to take.

New update.
No change (Qobuz is intermittent, plays the 6th track as opposed to the first after a wait of at least a minute).
Pause button STILL doesn’t work as it should on the remote app.
Auralic Aries still not recognised.
De-bug logs submitted. No response.
Nothing works (as you’d expect it to).
If my cable/satellite service proved this unreliable I’d cancel it and pay no more.
Having already paid up-front for a years subscription I’m honesty beginning to feel that this is a scam. The promise is there that it will sound fantastic, just give us 5 years to sort it out.
There appears to be no inclination (or perhaps ability) to solve legitimate problems.
Will be amazed if Audirvana manages to survive the next year, perhaps two.

I think that they understood that the subscription model sucks, because they started to sell the license in Japan.

Hot damn, guess I’ll pass on this update. Reading @Antoine ‘s release note’s it’s all about library stuff. Guess that’s what the majority of users are most interested in? Another late in the week release, seems to be ok this time thank goodness. Thanks for taking one for the team.

Interesting to me that the 3.5 users with Tidal problems are not even acknowledged, this should tell us something.

No response since November 2021………Really? Starting to remind of the pre-studio days. SMH

Whatever could the Japanese have done to deserve that :joy:

Maybe Auralic has no reseller there. Maybe they are all migrating to Diretta.

Next thing you know they will trade their Honda and Toyota’s for Yugo’s and Renault’s

I just double checked it’s not April 1st :open_mouth:

The Japanese are already getting a Renault, when they buy a Nissan.
And now they can buy a license of Audirvana Studio, named “Audirvana something”, instead of subscribing to it.

Luckily Renault has mostly kept hand off Nissan……I currently own a Infiniti G35/Skyline that I adore and I had the unique opportunity to drive the Renault 8 in my high school days. Quite the odd automobile in my opinion at least. I’ve a friend that owns the R5 turbo equally bizarre I must say. My niece is living in Japan currently so I will warn her😉

Tell her to avoid Auralic, and to try Studio before buying it to be sure that it plays with her gear.

Equipped with a universal HD wireless connection that can play music from wirelessly and universal plug-and-play (UPnP/DLNA) compatible devices. The remote control app for smartphones/tablets can be used for free.

This is a strong selling argument.
