2 pops when songs start, DSD 512

You can increase the pre-load memory to 4096MB or even double that if you use this system only for Audirvana.

Have you tried with upsampling to DSD256? Do you have the same issue?

Last time you told me to reduce pre-load memory to 1024MB.
Pops happen with DSD 256, Not as often. It happens during songs too,
I just turned on the stereo, it’s locked again " error starting device playback". Losing patience.

Have you tried to play native DSD file?

Guess it s similar.

"Hi,

I have the same twice loud popping sound “bug” on Windows with ASIO drivers upsampling from PCM to DSD, and it’s each time I skip a track this occurs."

“Hello. I have a Windows-based PC, DAC Teac UD-505. All softwares, firmwares are up to date. I hear popping sound (2 pops) when I start playing DSD file. FLACs always play good. I tried different settings. Start, 2 loud pops, play. Only DSD.”

Many more with this issue…

Hello @jeanft, what is the DSD track you try to play?

Same problem in other discussion:

Hello Damien,
Songs from Qobuz PCM to DSD256/512 have the issue in general. Start or middle. I moved titles from my Innuos to the PC and there was no issue playing DSD 64 and PCM stuff upsampled to 256/512. By pushing the memory pre-load to 5000, it worked OK with Qobuz, but I will spend more time with it today. I was quite surprised by the quality of downloaded songs in PCM and pushed to DSD512 with this DAC.
Remote not working.

Locked again " Error starting device playback. Playing files on PC, No Qobuz

Works with Wasapi/PC

Are you using the latest version of T+A driver?

The problem with pops is gone for the moment/ Yes, it s the late one.
The major issue has been since I installed Audirvana, the app freezing and being impossible to play more songs.

Get a Mac and save yourself the trouble. You might not be able to play DSD512, but who cares. You’ll have much more pleasant experience.

No need for a Mac. I run an Innuos Zenith with the stereo most of the time and had to use a PC to try a T+A DAC 8 DSD which is amazing when upsampling PCM to DSD512 with single bit converter.
Today was a good day. No issue with AV and was finally able to install remotes on Android and Ipad and they work. So far. ;-))

I have a Mac and I have the same problem…which I have not been able to fix. I don’t use upsampling, but I have 2 pops each time a DSD song starts

Did you change the memory pre-load? Where is it now? I pushed mine to 5000. Works

Fixed it!! I reduced the memory pre-load from 15000 to 5000, and it worked. Thank you very much for your advice

Oh great. Glad it worked out.

I have the same probleme with Windows when i change to Dsd in the first Time, later when the Playlist runs and not Stop is all okay.

Where did you change the memory preload?

You go to the active device page. Scroll down to low level playback options.
Just below…max memory allocated for tracks pre-load.

I found it but still have the pop when I start in dsd mode.
After that everything stays the same.
It does not occur in Pcm mode.

Hi, I still have the problem. When I reduced the memory pre-load to 5000 it worked for a while, but after playing some albums and a DSD album starts the 2 pops are there again. I have the 2 pops each time it changes from PCM to DSD. I tried reducing the memory pre-load to 4000, but it didn’t work either.
